BFI Touring and Axiom Films present a season of films by Wim Wenders, including a number of beautiful new 35mm prints of arthouse classics long out of distribution.

The season will continue in June 2008 with new prints of ALICE IN THE CITIES; THE STATE OF THINGS; PARIS, TEXAS and more.

Kings of the Road: Cert 15; Showing from Tue 15 Apr 2008; Wim Wenders' 70s American road movie with a European sensibility: a hypnotic, funny, wistful meander through Germany’s vanished ‘wild east’.

Lightning Over Water: Cert 15; Showing from Tue 22 Apr 2008; Wim Wender's documentary about Nicholas Ray, an emotionally intense portrait of a man for whom film was everything.

Room 666: Cert PG; At Cannes in 1982, Wim Wenders set up an unmanned camera in a hotel room and invited filmmakers to reflect on the future of cinema.

The American Friend: Cert 15; Showing from Tue 29 Apr 2008; Wim Wenders' film noir based on Patricia Highsmith's Ripley’s Game.

Wings of Desire: Cert PG; Showing from Thu 3 Apr 2008; Wim Wenders hugely acclaimed and multi-award winning movie (including Best Director at Cannes 1987). An angel renounces pastoral care of Berlin's sad and lonely (and the immortality that goes with it) to find love with a trapeze artist.
