Marc Evans directs a script by Angela Pell, co-produced by Henry Normal and Steve Coogan's Baby Cow. Following a car crash in Ontario, taciturn Brit Alex (Alan Rickman) seeks the mother of the hitchhiker killed in his car. But Linda (Sigourney Weaver) is not what he expected and he soon realises that she is autistic. In the enchanted, insular world that she has created, the unlikely pair become close and a warm friendship develops in the cold climate. snow cake was chosen to open the 2006 Berlin Film Festival.
