The Punks are Alright

Dir: Douglas Crawford, Canada, 87'

Cast: Henrike Baliv, Dolly Zilham, Mickey Greleck

Language: English

Punk music is probably the most political music movement with its confrontational frankness of expression and social and political relevance. The Punks are Alright profiles three punk bands from three parts of the world, Forgotten Rebels from Canada, Blind Pigs from Brazil and Superman Is Dead from Kuta in Bali. Connected through their music, they all live in very different parts of the world, and we get an insightful social commentary about young people’s perception about the world around them.

As Angry As Me

Language: English

The rise of punk rock duo Selfish C***t from their early days through to recognition in the mainstream press to recording in New York and finally a concert at London's Brixton Academy. The film questions whether punk rock can be reinvented in the 21st century, whether performance can ever be political and what it really is that lead singer Martin Tomlinson is so angry about.
