Our flexible week-to-week film programming model means that we can continue our most popular films and hold them over for more weeks. Or sometimes we will reduce screenings if they haven’t been as well received as we had hoped, freeing up scheduling space for other new releases. We can also take advantage of last minute opportunities to show films we hadn’t originally considered and easily respond to our audience recommendations and requests. Here, you can take a look at the films currently screening or scheduled for the future that weren’t originally advertised in our quarterly guide.
Following the sudden and traumatic death of a teacher, immigrant Bachir Lazhar is hired to work as a supply teacher in a Quebec school. Monsieur Lazhar’s firm yet sympathetic manner affords the class of troubled kids the opportunity to come to terms with their loss. This Oscar-nominated film, from the producers of Incendies, presents his story with emotion, deftly avoiding over sentimentality.
