Offering students of Urdu, Arabic, Mandarin and Italian the opportunity to develop language skills through access to contemporary film.
Since 2009, we are pleased to deliver increased access to film education for young people aged 14 – 19 exploring the languages and cultures spoken within the diverse communities of the North West region, with a particular focus on community and lesser taught languages - Arabic, Mandarin, Urdu and Italian
In this joint project delivered by Cornerhouse and Routes Into Languages North West (COLT) with support from Film: 21st Century Literacy and the UK Film Council, students are offered cinema-based study sessions and creative workshops. The project also provides professional development opportunities for teachers wanting to deliver film-related, language learning sessions.
See the Projector Community Language page for further information about all the activities undertaken in 2009 - 10
