This INSET will propose different ways to approach the study of France’s multicultural society today, using films in the language classroom (primarily at A Level). Films presented will address: integration and social mobility; banlieue stereotypes; religious tensions; identity crises and generation gaps; and reactions in France today to cultural difference.

Films presented will include Tout ce qui brille (Geraldine Nacache 2010), Mauvaise foi (Rochdy Zem 2008), Dans la vie (Philippe Faucon 2008) and Le grand voyage (Ismail Ferroukhi 2004).
