It will be supported by vocabulary exercises that are relevant to GSCE topics, focusing on the contrasts between urban and rural ways of life and a study of the film’s two main characters.

Led by Isabelle Vanderschelden, Senior Lecturer in French, Manchester Metropolitan University

Screening: The Grocer’s Son  (Le fils de l’épicier) 12A

Dir Eric Guirado / France  2007 / 96 mins /  In French with English subtitles

Le fils de l’épicier is a charming combination of coming of age, family drama and romance set in the dusty streets of Provence.
