Wolfgang Capellari is extraordinarily versatile. He works as a musician, architect, sculptor and painter, using spray paint and oils, egg tempera and fresco. He both creates installation objects and paints classical landscapes, and he devotes the same interest to medieval notation and modern wooden constructions, concrete, stone, wire cable and adhesive plaster.
This monograph shows selected work groups of paintings from the last eight years and a number of his texts that clearly attest to methods of association, defining the word as a source of independent ideas, as a place of freedom and pleasure. These texts are taken from his notebooks in which he jotted down ideas from 2001 to 2005.
Capellari's interest in text / image combinations is also apparent from the appearance of the book. This is not only a catalogue of works but also an artist’s book, unexpectedly broken-up with handwritten notes by the artist. Included is an Interview with Capellari by Gerald Matt.
