Andrew Livingstone
£17.00

Parallax View illustrates and contextualizes a two-year research project and solo exhibition by Andrew Livingstone at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery in 2010.

This book examines the expanded field of ceramics and investigates the employment of and interface between digital media, film, animation, photography and non-ceramic intervention.

Texts from Jo Dahn, Juliette MacDonald, Fiona Venables and Andrew Livingstone examine the exhibition from different perspectives and set these within current contemporary debates.

Andrew graduated from Camberwell School of Art in 1989, and gained an MA and PhD, The Authenticity of Clay and its Redefinition within Contemporary Practice: Ceramic Familiarity and the Contribution to Expansion, from the University of Ulster, Belfast.

He is both a writer and artist and has exhibited extensively including international exhibitions at the Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC; Garth Clark Gallery, New York; and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sunderland where he is leader of CARCuos the Ceramic Arts Research Centre.
