This title is a humorous and exploratory look at the issues and problems with contemporary live art (sometimes defined as ‘…the merging between performance and visual art’). It was curated / edited / organized / done by artist Anthony Schrag as an experimental and accessible examination of the various possibilities of this kind of work.
This book is a good representation of his generally addled but somewhat interesting brain, and is a timely analysis of the models of support, emerging work and critical analysis of the state of live art.
Anthony Schrag does a variety of stuff – he’s been known to kidnap city council-workers, blow things up, climb on things and generally have quite a bit of fun. The artist Nathalie de Brie once said Anthony’s work was 'fearless'. The writer Marjorie Celona is quoted as saying 'Anthony has A LOT of ideas. Not all of them are good'.
