Since 2001, Walther Koenig have sponsored Gelitin as publishers with numerous publications. With Gelatin’s acb  the artists’ group presents its own documentation of its projects. At the same time, it is the first comprehensive book of and about Gelitin, who called themselves Gelatin until 2005.

From A like Abgasblase (exhaust fumes) to Z like Zapf de Pipi the book provides both an overview of the entire oeuvre and a forecast on future projects. The abundance of photographs, sketches, models and ideas, artists’ statements and essays allows an uplifting plunge into the gelitinesque universe. Between the two book covers, the four Austrians have created a gesamtkunstwerk.

Gelitin is well-known for imaginative work and actions imbued with anarchical deeper meaning and humour. The choice of its topics and materials is just about unlimited. Whether they jump off the bridges of Venice, plan a space trip to Venus, make a tunnel sing, put a balcony on one of the twin towers of the New York World Trade Center or – with the kakabet – design a new typography: They always cross the borderlines of the conventional, taking their audience along.

English, German, French and Italian text.
