Cornerhouse is Manchester's international centre for contemporary visual arts and film.
Located in the heart of the city and open seven days a week, we have 3 floors of contemporary art galleries, 3 screens showing the best of independent cinema, a bar, café and a bookshop. We also operate Cornerhouse Publications, an international distribution service for contemporary visual arts books and catalogues.
Cornerhouse's patrons are: Danny Boyle, Damien Hirst and Helen Mirren.
In this section you'll find most of the practical information you need and some background and history. Simply select what you are looking for from the menu on the left.
You may also be interested in checking out our resource page (where you can download our programme notes and study guides) or our members page to for ideas on how to get the most of Cornerhouse and special gifts such as our seat dedications scheme and gift vouchers.
If you have a specific question you cannot find the answer to on our site, you can find the person you need to speak to in the contact section. Or for general questions, simply email info@cornerhouse.org
We receive a large amount of general enquiries and, whilst we will try when possible to get back to you, unfortunately we are not able to respond to everyone.
The easiest way to keep up with everything that’s happening at Cornerhouse is to sign up to our weekly email service.
Film Offers:
We do not take part in Orange Wednesdays. Cornerhouse is a charity organisation and, unlike the multiplex cinemas, we do not sell cinema snacks and drinks, as a result the Orange Wednesday deal is not beneficial for our ticket sales, but you can still save money and recieve great offers as a Cornerhouse Member.
Exhibition proposals:
Submit your work to Cornerhouse Projects. We do not accept unsolicited proposals for our main gallery spaces at present.
Jobs & Placements:
All available Cornerhouse permanent posts (full and part time) and any other vacancies are advertised on the jobs page of our website.
Any available internships will also be advertised, except those that are part of official work experience programmes by agreement with specific universities or organisations.
Young people aged 14-19 will only be considered for work experience if they are members, see www.cornerhouse.org/livewire for more information
